Connectra case study
Building and operating a live consumer product
Connectra is Urpro’s flagship product and a working example of our end-to-end software engineering approach—from application experiences and backend services to cloud delivery, quality, releases, and continued maintenance.

The product context
Connectra was created as a consumer-facing digital platform that brings multiple product experiences and operational systems together. Building the product required Urpro to think beyond a single application and coordinate the user experience, platform services, releases, production operation, and long-term evolution as one product ecosystem.
Connectra is a local marketplace that includes food delivery and other local services. The product spans a customer experience, a restaurant app, and a delivery partner app—so the engineering work had to support coordinated multi-sided workflows, not only a single static website.
End-to-end engineering ownership
- 01
Product and experience engineering
Translating product goals and user workflows into reliable mobile and web experiences. - 02
Backend and API systems
Supporting application workflows through backend services, data handling, APIs, and system integrations. - 03
Cloud and delivery operations
Preparing environments, deployment processes, monitoring foundations, and production operations. - 04
Quality and release readiness
Validating critical workflows, integrations, regressions, and release behaviour before production changes. - 05
Maintenance and evolution
Resolving production issues, improving performance, updating dependencies, and extending the product as requirements evolve.
One product, multiple engineering layers
Connectra is not a single-screen experience. It depends on coordinated mobile and web interfaces, supporting services, APIs, cloud operations, quality validation, and ongoing product maintenance. Each layer has to remain compatible as the product evolves.
Engineering the product as a connected system
Connectra required a connected engineering approach. Changes to one part of the product could affect application experiences, backend workflows, integrations, releases, and production operations. Urpro therefore approached the platform as one evolving system rather than a collection of disconnected features.
- Product decisions should account for the whole ecosystem, not only the visible interface.
- Mobile, web, backend, APIs, cloud, testing, and operations should not be treated as isolated deliverables.
- Delivery decisions should consider release safety and maintainability.
- Production feedback should inform continued development after launch.
The work continues after launch
Operating Connectra reinforces an important engineering principle: launching a product is the beginning of real-world learning. Production usage creates new information about reliability, usability, performance, workflows, and business priorities. That feedback must be converted into disciplined maintenance and continued product improvement.
Operating a live product includes practical responsibilities such as:
- Monitoring production behaviour
- Responding to defects and incidents
- Reviewing customer feedback
- Improving performance
- Managing dependency and security updates
- Preparing reliable releases
- Extending product capabilities
- Maintaining compatibility across systems

Connectra downloads
10,000+
The download milestone provides public evidence that Connectra moved beyond design and development into real-world use. For Urpro, the greater proof is the continued responsibility of operating, maintaining, and improving the product after launch.
